Shez Manzoor aka SHEZ is a British-Pakistani composer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in London. With a background in vocal and guitar performance and jazz, his work is inspired by a wide range of influences, from traditional South Asian music to electronic, hip hop, rock, jazz and soul.
Shez released his self-produced debut EP Our Time in 2022 and has had songs played nationally and internationally by the BBC, Reprezent Radio, Soho Radio and Threads. His latest single Freeze was released via Stereofox in November 2024. Working as a session guitarist in London, Shez has also collaborated with artists such as Elaha Soroor, anaiis and Baby Sol and has performed at venues across London including Soho Theatre, The Lower Third and KOKO.
Shez’s recent work for film and tv includes music featured in Clarkson’s Farm, scoring and writing original music for series 1 and 2 of the BAFTA-winning musical comedy series We are Lady Parts, which gained him an RTS Craft and Design Award for Best Original Score for a scripted show. He also worked as co-composer alongside Tom Howe on the award-winning Focus Features action-comedy feature Polite Society, which premiered at Sundance in February 2023, received 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and was named one of Barack Obama’s favourite movies of that year.
