Daniel’s first commissions were writing for BBC’s Horizon and his subsequent work in film and television documentary includes award-winning drama documentary The Somme (Channel 4), Rothko in the Simon Schama series Power Of Art, Ocean Odyssey, (both BBC) and The Last Days Of The Raj (Channel 4).
Equally adept at writing for television drama, Daniel’s recent notable credits includes the RTS award-winning BBC film The Curse Of Steptoe, ITV’s Caught In A Trap (both directed by Michael Samuels) and the hit ITV mini-series Collision, directed by Marc Evans. In 2010, Daniel scored the acclaimed BBC Film Mrs Mandela starring Sophie Okonedo and the ‘final’ series of the popular Foyle’s War for ITV. Most recently, Daniel composed the music for The Hour. Scripted by Abi Morgan and starring Ben Wishaw, Dominic West and Romola Garai, Daniel wrote a distinctive title theme and a jazz-inflected score to complement the detailed mis-en-scene.
Daniel’s most recent work was scoring the three-part series of ITV’s much-loved Foyle’s War.
